Mathematics

By studying mathematics, students learn to work mathematically – developing fluency, understanding, problem-solving, reasoning and communication skills.

The syllabus consists of the following strands:

  • number and algebra
  • measurement and geometry
  • statistics and probability.

The NSW Mathematics Syllabus K-10 for the Australian Curriculum can be found on the National Educational Standards Authority (NESA) website.

Stage Statements give parents an overview of the learning in Mathematics in each stage of learning from Early Stage 1 (Kindergarten) through to Stage 3 (Year 5 and 6).
