Curriculum Overview

At our school, we follow the NSW Curriculum to provide every child with a rich and engaging learning experience. Our teachers focus on delivering quality lessons with clear learning goals and success criteria where students are active participants in their own learning journey.

Our teaching is guided by high-quality practices, including visible learning principles, thoughtful programming, and ongoing reflection on student progress.

Beyond the classroom, we look for opportunities to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. We aim to empower all students to achieve their full potential through a curriculum that is both rigorous and enriching.

High Expectations

We believe all students can succeed. Teaching with high expectations ensures every child is provided with opportunities to engage with rich, authentic learning experiences. Our teachers set challenging but achievable goals, encourage students to give their best effort, and celebrate progress along the way. By fostering a culture of high expectations, we help all learners grow in confidence, resilience, and achievement.

Explicit Teaching

Explicit teaching means that teachers clearly explain what students are learning, why it is important, and how to be successful. Lessons are carefully structured with clear instructions, examples, and guided practice before students try it on their own. Teachers check for understanding along the way and provide feedback to make sure every child is supported.

Effective Feedback

Students receive timely and specific feedback, helping them understand their progress and what their next steps should be. This gives children the tools and confidence to take charge of their learning and build their confidence and capacity as assessment-capable learners.

Data Informed Practice

Data-informed practice means teachers regularly look at student learning information, like classwork, assessments, and observations, to understand how each child is progressing. This helps us see what students already know, where they might need extra support, and how we can extend their learning further.

By using this information, teachers can adjust lessons, group students for targeted activities, and plan the next steps in learning. It ensures every child gets the right level of challenge and support to achieve their personal best.

Student Engagement

We design rich and engaging learning opportunities that capture curiosity and make learning meaningful. By embedding visible learning practices, students become active participants who enjoy and value their learning journey.

Collaboration

Our teachers work together, continually reflecting and refining their practice. This shared commitment to high-quality teaching ensures consistency and strong outcomes across the school.

Wellbeing

We know that children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and included. A positive classroom environment builds strong relationships, encourages respect, and gives every child a sense of belonging.

When students feel valued and connected, they are more confident to take risks in their learning, try new things, and persevere when challenges arise. By making wellbeing and inclusion the foundation of our approach, we set the stage for academic success and help every child reach their full potential.
